How the two approaches differ

Classical DOE software wants the whole plan before you start. You choose a design, run every experiment in it, and analyze the results at the end. That is fine when you already know which design fits your problem. When you do not, you often find out after you have spent 30 runs on the wrong one.

The parts of classical software that slow people down
